Lino Laure was born in the Philippines and is a self-taught oil painter. Lino creates artwork from nature (plein air) and conceptual pieces. Lino taught yoga and painting at a large retreat center on the Big Island of Hawaii, where he lived for the past 12 years. Lino currently lives in Tucson, where he finds new inspiration for landscape painting and a calling to create abstract art.
All of my artwork is painted with oils on canvas. Large paintings are finished in my studio while smaller paintings are completed from start to finish “en plein air”. Landscapes are often my main subject matter when painting. However, I also enjoy creating conceptual and abstract pieces garnered from my imagination – derived from elements of real and imaginary landscapes and figures to create a story, or induce a particular mood.
