Take a Deep Breath of Art

Happy Holidays! The Drawing Studio wishes you and yours
a very fine ending to 2013, and the best for 2014!

TDS’ Gala Benefit and Fundraiser is here: “A Breath of Plein Air” a showcase of over 200 works of art based on the theme of plein air (working outdoors from nature), which will be interpreted broadly by a wide range of artists throughout our community. Every Gala ticket holder will walk away with an original piece of artwork-a drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, sculpture or print.

The Gala will also feature a silent auction of works by well-known local artists and many other items that broadly interpret our theme. Catered refreshments and live music complete the magical evening.

Lecture Series: “Plein Talk” — Panel Discussion (January 10) and Andrew Rush — “Painting San Carlos” (January 17).

Don’t miss the FREE Gala Preview: Wednesday, January 23, 5:30 – 8:30pm.

Tickets are $125 per person, or $90 for contributing artists. All events are at The Drawing Studio, 33 South 6th Ave.

Proceeds benefit educational programs at TDS.

Dawn breaking coral, lavender and gold through the clouds over the mountains to the east; searing reds and oranges threaded with turquoise settle behind saguaros to the west. How does one describe the sublime brilliance of the out-of-doors here in Tucson and elsewhere on our earth? Through visual art. Which is why artists have long been lured from their studios to paint “out of doors”. Take a deep breath of art for a worthy and highly recognized organization and for yourself. Buy a ticket to the Gala Fundraiser. Pastel above by Betina Fink.
